I just spent four hours striping the fat from my favourites (cut 300+ items), then churning through a whopping 1600+ pending deviantWATCH list. I've been neglecting my account a tad, as of late.
While climbing through my favourites , I noticed patterns. Strings of items where I'd obviously discovered a new artist, and enjoying their work, went on a fav orgy. As expected, that resulted in some items not quite holding up to my "wow" standard. Not bad pieces, mind you; simply not fav worthy. I wonder how different the DA landscape would look if favs had a cost. Say, you got a certain number of fav "points" each day, or for taking other actions. Therefore limiting your ability to bless another artist's work. A sort of, social economy, per say. Possibly certain artists you've never heard of transforming into behemoth users, and artists which we all know, shrinking into obscurity. Admittedly not the Deviant Art way, but it would, never the less, be interesting.
Also, I wish the Sit Back had a "Fill this window" mode along with fullscreen. Great for us users who have a lot of monitor space and do not wish to burn a whole display on it.
